Entry Requirements for International Students

You require a passion for cooking.
English Language proficiency in line with DIAC regulations (IELTS test result of 5.5 or equivalent internationally recognised exam result for entry into career courses). Students without the required English ability can enroll for English Language instruction at an approved Hospitality Training Australia supplier.
Minimum education of 12 years, if less a demonstrated ability to succeed in the chosen course.
Mature age students will also be considered without minimum a education requirement but with relevant work experience.

How to Enrol

Step 1: Prepare your Application

Download, read and then complete an Enrolment Application

When completing the enrolment you will need to ensure that you attach all relevant academic transcripts and records of education, including:

International applicant’s Mutual Recognition and Recognition of Prior Learning information must be translated into English.
International applicants to English Language courses must complete the Hospitality Training Australia’s English Language test with an approved Hospitality Training Australia Education Agent.
International applicants to career courses must provide proof of English proficiency.

Step 2: Application Checklist

Before submitting your application to Hospitality Training Australia, please ensure you have completed all sections of the application foms and attached:

Certified copies of your academic qualifications (translated to English)
Evidence of English Language ability (if applicable)
Copy of Passport
Copy of Visa (if applicable)
Relevant employment details (if applicable)
Guardian Advice Notification form (if applicable)

A non-refundable enrolment fee of A$200 and Tuition Fee payment is then required. Fees may be paid by cash, cheque, major credit cards or by direct payment into the Training Organisations Bank Account.

Students will be introduced to the Training Organisation and their course on their first day with an orientation program conducted by a Hospitality Training Australia staff member. This is designed to introduce students to key personnel, familiarise them with the premises and procedures of the Training Organisation as well as to welcome them.
